Prosecutors presented evidence proving the guilt of a 35-year-old man who possessed over 160 grams of psychotropic drugs in the form of ready-to-sell ‘spliffs’. This information was released by the Rivne Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.
Last November, law enforcement officers conducted a search at his home as part of another criminal case. However, the man refused to open the door and fled through a window. When they apprehended him, they seized 63 packets containing psychotropic substance ‘PVP’. During the search, authorities also discovered a flash drive with coordinates for drug distribution networks (‘spliffs’).
His actions were classified as illicit procurement and storage with intent to sell a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance in large quantities (part 3 of article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Despite denying his guilt in court, the Rivne City Court, after examining all evidence, found him guilty and sentenced him to nine years imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
The drug trafficker is currently detained. The verdict has not yet entered into force, and parties can challenge it in appellate court.
